Remarkable ca tru performances featured in Hanoi
Young singers from the Thang Long Ca Tru Club held a ca tru evening on Saturday, demonstrating performances that had earlier won awards at national events.
The show at Hanoi’s Giang Vo Communal House in Ba Dinh District featured the singers playing their own instruments.
Artist Nguyen Thi Chuc sang Ty Ba hanh, the longest one-part ca tru performance.
Artist Nguyen Phu De demonstrated Hat giai, the longest performance for a male singer.
The club, based in the capital, performs ca tru free shows on the first Saturday of every month and teaches audience members how to play trong chau (the big drum) free of charge every Friday evening.
